Innovations for the Environment

Welcome!

We specialise in Grease traps for Restaurant kitchen drains and Oil-Water separators to protect the environment from hydrocarbons.

See our Grease trap Selection Guide for help with your choice of the correct unit for your premises.

Biomass Grease Treatment Systems

The PPD Biomass Greasetrap is primarily an efficient grease and oil separator. But in addition it provides a perfect environment for the special grease-eating microbes to create a sustainable grease-eating biomass. This biomass consumes the collected grease, oil and sediment for long periods of time without any maintenance. There is a large range of models available for installation above ground (inside) or the normal underground installation. The standard above-ground models use an automatic liquid dosing pump to inject liquid Bugfluid into the grease trap every night after the kitchens have closed. An economy version is available using the bugsock system where a Bugsock hangs from a lanyard inside the grease trap and is replaced only once every 4 months. The Std. underground models use Bugsocks with an option of the liquid dosing system. All PPD Biomass Greasetraps provide minimum maintenance, minimum smell, minimum costs, maximum efficiency, they are particularly environmentally friendly and just the best grease treatment system available.

Lamina Filtertrap Grease Separators

The PPD Lamina Filtertrap has been developed to protect the kitchen drainage systems of restaurants from the effects of grease. The patented, highly efficient two stage separation process has been shown to remove 99.997% of oil and grease from the flow. Design features include :- Lamina Flow - The inlet encourages layered, lamina flow causing fast separation of oil and grease. Coalescing Filter - The special filter medium separates the fine droplets of oil which pass through normal grease traps. Positive trapping - The grease cannot be flushed through by dishwashers or pan-sinks emptying - a common fault with old style grease traps. Large capacity tray - the big collection tray allows less frequent emptying. Mechanical Hoist - A galvanised steel hoist with auto-locking hand winch makes the lifting and suspension of the tray very simple, encouraging regular maintenance. Lightweight cover - each filtertrap is supplied with a cover easily lifted by one person. Fully Tested to DIN standard test procedure - giving better than 25 PPM results.

Oil-Water Separators

PPD Separators are suitable for installation anywhere that hydrocarbons could leak or be spilt and washed away by rainwater. Highways, car parks, lorry parks, airports, industrial estates etc. will all benefit from having a PPD separator intercept and treat the drainage water. Full retention separators treat the entire flow of drainage water and are available with 3 different separation standards, 5 parts oil per million parts water (5 PPM), 10 PPM or 100 PPM. Class 1, 5 PPM and 10 PPM separators are usually allowed to discharge to streams, rivers and lakes. Class 2, 100 PPM separators are normally restricted to discharging to a sewer for further treatment. Additionally PPD offer Bypass Separators where the first 10% of the flow is treated through the separation chamber. Higher flows (usually just clean water) are allowed to bypass the separator and flow straight to the outlet. This allows much smaller and cheaper separators.
